OK, you've been asking for it. Here is the new Version of the Star Trek Mod Map. It now features space for 12 players and has been balanced. The race order is as follows:
1. Federation
2. Klingons
3. Romulans
4. Cardassians
5. Ferengi
6. Tholian
7. Breen
8. Dominion
9. Borg
10. 8472
11. Orion Pirates
12. Gorn
And generally speaking, the AI is good at placing minor races in places when they should be if you wish to have a few.
Enjoy.

Hey userX, i was a big fan of your first map, great to hear that you did a second http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Was wondering if you thought about arranging the Empires the way the appear during startup, makes it much easier, ie
8472
Borg
Breen
Card-- You get the idea http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
I'll check the new map out tonight, looks like fun http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hey, just got back from a look see, I love what you did with 8472's space http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif Nebulae dont always have to do things and they sure look great !
One thing I was wondering regarding both yours and Tnarg's map. You both place Tholia in the Far Corner of the Alpha Quadrant, when Tholian space is quite small and sandwiched between Romulan and Klingon Territory in the Beta Quadrant, supposed to be all nebula's and storms etc http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
Just balance issues?

Just balance issues? <font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">According to Star Charts, the Tholians are at the corner of the Alpha Quadrant. This was probably done because they were mentioned as being close to the Cardassians in DS9.
I based my map almost 100% on Star Charts which is now taken as canon.

Hello, Hello!
Not sure if you noticed but I recently made a Star Wars Major Systems map in the tradition of both yours and Tnarg's fine Maps. One of the things I noticed with both maps, and My own, is the somewhat blotchy look to them. This can be fixed when opening up the System window and selecting 'mask background objects'. Thus planets, suns, asteroids blend into the background star map or nebulae.
As I said b4 great map :0 Both Star Trek maps are great, if for different reasons!
