XP pro - how do I get a PBW icon into the most used list on the start menu?
I have got the launcher there (it did it automaticly)
but it doesent seem to want to put a java progy there.

I think it might be limited to .exe files. Just use the quick launch bar. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Can't you drag it and drop it above the delimeter line?

Altough I think it's easier to start it from the quicklaunch bar as Fyron stated.

Yes, I tried it and you can drag and drop a shortcut above the line. It's not in the actual "most used" section, but it's right there on the start menu. To make the shortcut you just right click on the web page in explorer and select the shortcut option. It will save it to the desktop and you can drag it from there.

Isn't RTC an executable jar? I am not positive, but I believe that the most used programs part doesn't like java programs...

I can drag an RTC shortcut onto the start menu just fine.

Nobody was talking about adding links to the start menu on the parts you can manually edit. Links to anything can be added there. We were talking about the behavior of the most used programs section, which has nothing to do with dragging stuff onto the start menu.

I understood that the most used programs section couldn't be manually altered. However, Ruatha and I were trying to present Se5a with options to do very nearly what it was that he wanted to do, even though he couldn't do exactly what he wanted to do. The area of the start menu that can me manually modified is so close to the most used programs section, and both are on the start menu.

See, unlike you were were trying to be helpful and offer suggestsions, rather then just showing off our massive knowledge of Windows operation.

<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">Isn't is possible to turn a .bat file into a windows .exe file? I think I saw a utility that would do that once. If so you could make a batch file that would launch the jar file, turn the .bat file into an .exe and then Windows would probably stick it in the most used programs section.

EDIT: Ah, well maybe not. The utility I was thinking about was an old Dos utility. Doesn't work with Windows executable programs. If you know anything about programing it would probably be pretty easy to write and compile a simple program that calls a shortcut for the RTC jar file. But that might be more trouble then it's worth.

See? I understood that the most used programs section couldn't be manually altered. <font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">It was not apparent from the following post:
