is there any way to start a space empires 4 ip game with a automated host? like, it would automaticly prossess the turns? maybe a comand line tihng? thanks for your time http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hmm, do you mean with the host NOT playing in the game itself?
I imagine the PBW RTC would look exactly the same as that from the outside.

Yeh, like, the way gold as the tcp/ip games, have a host comeputer that doesn't need a player at it to click the 'prossess turn' button

That is a very handy feature. The Dom2 game has it. I cant even picture running that now with a host also being a player.
Even handier in my opinion is the "VGAPlanets" method of having a seperate host.exe which can have a much smaller CPU footprint.

so does anybody know how to do this? how does the PBW prossess turns? i can imagine it would be sompthing LIKE what i'm trying to do...

It processes turns by running the game with command line parameters, in host mode. You could use Ruatha's PBW Emergency Site script. It has a batch program that will execute SE4 and such after all turn files are uploaded (or available).

The command line syntax is found in the History.txt file in the main SE IV folder. It's under the changes in v1.39.
