I've seen this dicussed a little but I haven't really been able to get a good answer. I have several weapons platforms on my planets but I can't usually fire all of my weapons. I assume it's because I can only track so many targets but is there a specific number? And is that number per platform (which I assume it isn't) or for the entire group of platforms? And is there any way to increase that? If not, then it would make sense to only have a few weapons on a platform, right?

It's 10 targets pr planet. How many WP's you got don't make any difference.

I think 10 is hardcoded. If not, you should find the entry in settings.txt

In addition to the 10 targets, Point Defense Cannons can attack any amount of targets. In tactical combat, if you fire them before your main weapons, I think you might lose some of the 10 target "slots", however. This is a known feature.

Slick.

The 10 targets per planet is hardcoded, but if you make a weapon have point defense capabilities and be able to target ships, it should limit the targets to the amount of weapon platforms on the planet.

Weapons only autofire against units, not ships.
