If they are rioting, they won't be able to build any new platforms if you intel-bomb them to dust...

Just make sure they don't get any reinforcements from outside.

The Cargo Maintenance Problems project targetting planetary cargo is broken however, so you won't be able to break their defences this way. This project has an effect amount of 1, so it does, quite literaly, one point of damage to a random cargo unit. You might be able to take down one police troop per project though, but hardly more than this.

It should work if you increase the effect amount for this project though. Remember that units do *not* take partial damage, so the project should deal enough damage to destroy at least a weapon platform.

Will weapon platforms fire when a planet is rioting??? I am monitoring a very heavily defended planet with multiple talisman-enhanced large weapon platforms, and have not seen its population increase for over 3 turns now, meaning it is rioting.
Still, I can only capture it if those WP's do not fire.

A plague will wipe the planet clean, I think, but Food Poisoning reduces the population to zero.

It is supposed to work this way Fyron, but it does not. It works like the Cargo Bomb, save that units do not receive partial damage, and so it is an all or nothing thing.

For example, a planet has 40 platforms with 770 hitpoints each. The regular project will do nothing at all. If the effect amount for this project is increased to 10,000, 12 platforms will go down with each project. But because of the way units are handled, launching this project twice in the same turn will mean a loss of 24 platforms, and not 25 platforms (which would have been the case if the damage stacked).
