Hi, All
I just scanned Ruatha's thread, (the one he bumped to celibrate his many years on these forums.) It got me interested in knowing what all you other people's first 'Topic' posting was here.
FYI: The first 'Topic' I started was on November 30, 2002 A good 6 months after I registered. And wouldn't you know it, my first 'topic' post saw me upload a 'graphic' for the se4 community... If you promise not to bump this old thread, you can take a look at it here..
My First 'Topic' post. (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=007526)
Seven days layer on December 6, 2002 I started my 'real-invasion' with what would become a huge army of unstopable avatars..
My Avatar thread. (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=007568)
I can't wait to find out what and when all of you made your first 'topic' Posts.
Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

The first thread I posted to was the "How old are you" thread. No idea what the first thread I started was though.

I can't seem to find my very post very easily but this one might be it. I think this is my first post. (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=005154#000002) It was April 1st 2002 and I joined in March of 2002. That is the oldest post near March of 2002 that I can find.
I'm kind of having the same problem. But I've had Gold for awhile now (in fact a couple days after it was released) and I just now started a multiplayer game, and MY problem is - I don't know if it's the same for Ramos - but I don't see my designs at all in my ship design window. It's possible to not save my empire file right? I just choose same empire then it asked me if I wanted to save my ship designs along with it and I said yes and then it saved. But in the multiplayer game they don't show up. My bro (whom I'm playin multiplayer game with) has the same problemt. Any suggestions?<font size="2" face="sans-serif, arial, verdana">That was the content of that post. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif
As for my first thread that I started, I have no clue what that might be.

Mine I remeber well. My first post was also one of the first topic's started in the Starfury forum. I asked, what Se4 tech do you want to see in Se4? And the first person to reply was Mr. Narf!

My first topic and post has been lost to the ages, apparently. Earliest I could find was my second topic and post:
DATE: 19 Sept. 2000
TOPIC: Beef #2: Fighters
CONTENT:
WOW, is this a great game! Only played the demo so far. Intend to buy. But, as an American I demand my right to complain. So here goes:
Fighters are expensive to research, and then they are cruddy! Why are they slower than freighters in combat mode??? And why are they so easy to hit, even from far away??? And how can a single shot from a big gun kill more than one fighter at a time? Fighters are not done realistically. Remember Pearl Harbor, Midway, the Coral Sea (not to mention Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, Buck Rogers, and every other sci fi book or movie ever made)?? The only things that should be able to hit a fighter reliably are weapons specifically designed to hit small, fast-moving targets (i.e., AA, SAMs, and other fighters). A carrier with fighters should always wipe out a fleet of battleships, if the big boats don't have some sort of AA defense.

My first ever post was in the Starfury forum...but my first topic and post in this forum was an OT one discussing the BSE(Mad Cow Disease) case that had been found in Canada. I can't remember what my first actual SEIV related topic/post was though. I just don't seem to have that many questions! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/tongue.gif

Very typical. I was lurking for some time and finally had to make a post to ask a bazillion questions as a newbie.

Hm, a quick search reveals that my first post was to give praise to the powers that be for the latest patch update. No surprise there.
The first topic I created was to pimp my first shipset. Also not surprising.
That both of these Posts were brought into existence by myself when I was roughly 3 1/2 years younger than I am now... there's the shocker. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/shock.gif
This whole aging thing is really beginning to grate on my nerves.

Looks like my first thread in the SE:IV regular forums was Manual help (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=001917).
Although I'm almost certain that the first post and thread I made to the Shrapnel Boards was in the first SEIV beta forum. I remember at the time I was holding out on joining new forums because I was still actively involved in a bunch of SEIII forums...
I barely remember that project now. It's a good thing that others brought it into being where I didn't http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

I did a search on my Member Number. It only gave me my Last 300 which was back to Feb 03.
I can remember my first post. It was something about beating the AI LCs with my Frigates. The same post mentioning that misterioulsy a trasport sitting over a planet was sundenly not mine and yet there was no apparent battle.

This was during the Twin Galaxies tourney ages ago. (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=000775)
Some of you really oldsters will need to look in the SEIV 2000 archive at the bottom of the forum. Saw a few names I recognized in that one.

Never mind. Found it (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=005399;p=2[/url).
And what a hair-brained, cockamaime scheme is it, too.
[edit: What I did, and what I think Slick might have meant, was to look back in the topic list to the time I registered. Then I ran a text search, on the web page, for my name. I just kept going forward in time until I found it.]

lst post, which was hesitent at the time do to my shyness http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif ) was a question on the game itself, after that I became embroiled in the heated discourse of Gryphin's Custer hat and the symbiote upon his upper torso with Growltigga and Gryphin and then of course the infamous discussions on Circle the Wagon and "The Gryphin Position" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif ahhh those were the good old days... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
