Not receiving PBW Messages....

In a game I'm in (NGC5) I haven't been receiving any Messages from other players. I can tell that I've been getting Messages, but the log does not tell me that I've received them or display their content. By looking in the Empires menu, I can tell what treaty is proposed, but I'd really like to know what the content of the Messages is. Is there any way to do this? I haven't experienced this problem in any of my other PBW games as far as I know, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you haven't set the Log to only display one type of message, e.g. Construction? All and Politics should display the player Messages.

The log was set on Construction only. I took over this game for a player, and it must have been set on this before I took it over, and just didn't notice.
