Can a Crew Insurrection Intel program work against a ship with a master computer?

Plain and simple, yes. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

Is there any way to change this in the data files? I have to look at them again, but I don't remember seeing any settings for components that will prevent intel operations against them.

In some games it might be cool to have components or facilities that will prevent intel ops against them.

That needs to be changed.

Counter Intel II should work against it. Isn't Crew Insurrection an Intelligence Level II project???

Yes,it should be a level 4,since you lose so much tech!

I have *at least* six counterintelligence projects running as soon as I get Intelligence centers. Can't be too paranoid. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif

Heh. Perhaps Computer Combat + Intelligence Ops (if it is possible to have multiple tech pre-reqs for an intel op) should allow the "1 0wN j00" op. ;-) (or, as a weapon -- obvious extension to the Computer Combat line).

(Hrrmmmmm. Anti-computer weapons... imagine weapons/intel ops that KO specifically computer facilities. Ouch, you lose your system-wide +30%...)

Sinapus --

Intel sabotage (one per opponent) might actually be cheaper as long as no opponent produces enough intel pts to do multiple ops/turn, and you're not up against many intel-using races.

Zodd --

One thing that could be tweaked, if it isn't reflected already: the more crew on a ship, the harder it should be to cause a crew insurrection. So a DD might not be too much of a hassle, but trying to get a (crewed, not computer-run) DN or SB to come over should be relatively difficult. Likewise, PPP should be harder on a more populated world -- it's necessary to have a larger following to make a difference.

Likewise, it should probably be harder to sabotage or crew-insurrect a ship that's not at a planet, because you have to work with [on] the people that are already on board.
