I was testing out a strategy using minefields at all the warp points. Mine level II with level III explosive. Setup a minefield with 70 mines in it - enemy colony ship wanders into it and totally wipes out my minefield with only 43% damage taken

Very impressive considering each mine should do 900 damage points!!!!!

It's rough playing against an AI with hulls made up of NEUTRONIUM.

Figured this was an anomaly so i did this against an enemy fleet of 15 LC with level V shields. They all got destroyed and i had some mines left over.

My new stategy is too not let enemy colony ships approach mt minefields

playing the demo, or not patched? that bug was mentioned in another thread, i thought they said it was fixed.

could be wrong though. I have definitly destroyed some enemy colony ships with mines in 1.19 I think the problem was that the colony component has enough DR to survive any 1 mine attack, and each mine is treated as a seperate combat.. and shields dont help..
