I am the type of modder who builds on his errors. If I run something new and it errors, at least the error message will tell me what isn't working. But after heavily modifying my files the game is freezing as soon as I hit end turn. This would be okay if I knew why so that I could fix it, but there is no message, just a freeze. I restart SE4 but the buttons are locked and I am forced to reboot. Anyone familiar with this lockup ? I am betting it's the AI as I have changed the components but not yet altered its research or build files, but freezing the second I hit end turn ? hmm..

Nope, haven't seen it. Tell us if/when you figure it out and what it was.

Well, I have a mod that adds about 50% more tech to the tech tree, and when I was trying it out I never had any problems with lockups. I didn't change any AI settings so far for this mod, but I would be usually using maximum tech and simulator to try new components. It could be that you have modified some of the standard tech that makes AI go boom. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif

Well, you are a bit unspecific about what you have changed so I have no clue where the error is. But I think I can tell you why it freezes after hitting "end turn": The AI will run it's scripts after ending the players turn (even so if computer player), not in the beginning. If the AI is creating a new design with a faulty component, it will crash when using it i.e. when it invokes the design subroutine after you have hit "end turn".
