So, has anybody noticed any major gameplay changes since installing the demo patch?

Well, the AI looks better: now know how to attack with more than 1 ship at the same time! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif
Also, now you can retrofit/scrap ships in Groups (like SE3! http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif )

Still I'm missing the old right click interfase, that MM used in SE3...
I hope that they could include it some day, instead the hard to use shortkeys...

I started a game with the new demo and noticed that it puts many fewer special worlds. I'm not sure, but it looks like you can only get the special tech now--there are no more free normal tech advances.

Hm. You still can get normal tech -- I've had ruins give me a few normally-accessible tech like gravitational weapons.

The most obvious change seems to be that ships now route themselves around storms, which is much, much better for the sanity, especially if you use the colonization minister. They still don't realize when a warp point damages the 'pod and that they have to turn back to repair, 'tho, so you still want to exclude systems sometimes.

Weapon platform mount sizes appear to have been added.

The race points have been toned down, methinks; ISTR that the old maximum was 10k for 'high'; now it's 5k.
