I am playing a universe right now where about 1/2 the warp points cause damage to the ships. I wonder if the gold Version will allow the bad warp points to be destroyed and replace with good ones??

I can't remember where (maybe in the FAQ on the MM site?) but I'm pretty sure I read about doing exactly that. I think the question was stated "how do you fix a damaging warp point?" and the answer was, indeed, to close up the bad one and make a newer and better one in its place.

Right, but it's not a "game master" thing. You need to resarch astrophysics, and then stellar manipulation and build ships to close the broken one and create new ones.

Lerchey "Right, but it's not a "game master" thing. You need to resarch astrophysics, and then stellar manipulation and build ships to close the broken one and create new ones."

And this can be done in the demo??

'Fraid not. Stellar manipulation tech isn't in the demo, so you'll have to wait for the full game.

I have just finished a demo game in which my primary AI opponent somehow had the ability to get ships past my warp point blockadeers. The ships would always be visable on the map,, but,, they were able to pass me at warp points without having to fight me.
My blockade forces included satalites, fighters and ships with every kind of sensor.

I am in a new game and I have run into that elusive race again. The name is Durshocka and their ships look like a gas cloud. The racial discription says they are a cilicate race and excel at energy research.
If I try to move through a sector they are in,, I have to decide wheather to fight or not to fight.
If I chose not to fight,, I cannot go through the space, but they can get through a space I am in.

Wingte, I believe this is the empire with the green ships. I have never had a problem like this with them or any other race. Reading the race file gives no reason for them to be able to slip past your forces without combat being engaged. Have you intercepted a ship of theirs in space with similiar results? My guess is that you have a unique bug on your hands.

I saw something like that, when I had some ships over a warp point, BUT, inside a nebulae system.
I have assumed that because I can not see the enemy ships, into a nebulae system, then my ships were unable to detect the ship and fight...

To Hawkwing,, yes the ships are green. They look like a green cloud.

Belruse,, I have had it happen in regular and nebula cloud systems.
It only seems to happen at warp points. When they are on a warp point,, I cannot pass them without a fight even when I have managed to get them to agree to a non-aggression pact. But if I am on the warp point even during a declared war, they seem to be able to slip past me. They are always visable on the screen ,, but,, you do have to look close since they sort'a look like some of the "storm" pictures.

What technology level is this at? I start all games at low tech, so I have not seen all the tech availiable in the demo. Is there a higher technology available in the demo (like cloaking) that would let them slip past without engaging in combat?

Nope, the cloak tech is not available in the demo...

Cloaking's not available as a researchable technology but could the race have something like it as an undocumented special ability?

Sounds more like a bug to me but it might not be - the bug might actually be in not having something about a natural stealth ability in their description.

I have taken a closer look at this race. They have a racial enemy who thinks the the ships of this race are "eating" them because the ships are "pure energy". Right now I am of the oponion that this race does indeed have a "special ability". If nothing else the ships mimic the green cosmic storms. I have found that I cannot scan them so I am betting that they have the same effect as a "storm" so they can slip by.

I am going to try starting a game that includeds that race and then "turn them into a player controlled race and see what they can do.
