What ship types does AI use in its fleets?
Has anyone ever seen it use anything else
than, attack ships, defense ships and carriers in its fleets?
I have noticed that the AI never mixes defense and attack ships in same fleet.

Exactly. One of the requested fix items was a "flag" in the AI_DesignTypes file that would indicate whether the design shoud be added to attack/defense fleets. This would be a quick band-aid for now. Of course, this would not resolve problems with the AI not escorting colonizers into "battle" areas, etc. Has anyone seen "Kamikaze Attack Ships" used in an attack fleet?

Yes, we have noticed that the AI is rather klutzy with fleets. It is very haphazard in its use of fleets, and will actually assemble them NEXT to a target rather than at a safe distance. If MM will add some sort of "configure" ability for fleet composition as it has for formations we might be able to make it act smarter. Stay tuned for the next patch.
