I'm trying to find the game here in Canada and was told by someone on the board (I think it might even have been a Shrapnel employee) that the game is available from compusmart.com.
It isn't. Shrapnel, if you've got some sort of arrangement with them, you may want to call them and get this straightened out.
Here is the text of compusmart.com's reply to me:
Dear S.,
Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately this item is not available at CompuSmart Online. Please note that some of our retail locations might carry this game. Therefore we suggest that you contact or visit a retail CompuSmart location near to inquire on pricing and availability. Please visit the link below for a list of our retail locations: http://www.compusmart.com/OurStores.asp
or you can call 1-888-957-6278
I hope that this information will help and please feel free to contact us again should you require any further information. Please come back and visit us soon again at www.compusmart.com (http://www.compusmart.com)

Actually you might want to complain and ask them to carry it.
I have asked them too, but they haven't as of yet. However the local stores should have it.

Is it not possible for Canadians to just buy the game direct from shrapnel?
I thought shrapnel sold worldwide...

We do, he's trying to save on shipping.
Chips and Bits is another option..

Maybe the game is too good, and they kept all the copies for themselves http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

They're telling me they don't even have it "listed in their computer system." As in, it's never even been stocked in the first place. Maybe it will show up in a few days?
Is the game still on backorder if I order from your site direct? (Was on backorder Last time I checked.)

Hmm, I just called them again, explained the developer's story, and they're quite emphatic that the game is simply not carried by them (after checking their computer system for reguakr publishers and independents). This is weird. We're talking about the same retailer, right? Compusmart.com in Canada, right?

It's the Edmonton store who bought from us. Here is the URL for the Online area of their store:

Well, I checked the site, and no dice. Looked under games/realtime (that's where they put MOO III), military, turnbased, everything! But it's not there. I'll give my buddy at compusmart a call and see what he has to say about it.
Edit: spell check. "Me fail english? That's unpossible!"

certainly is there!
So how long before you make into stores in the US?

We are in some small stores. It just depends on if those folks want to buy our games DIRECT. We will never go into retail in the big chains in the U.S., there just isn't any money in it.

Makes sense, most gamers will prefer the warm inviting glow of the monitor before human contact.

Well, son of a gun, there it is too. $ 69.95 (that's 15.23 USD)
Thanks Richard.

Actually, 69.99 Canadian Dollars = 45.70328 US Dollars, not 15.23 US Dollars.
