A bLast from Dominion II's developments past:

2003-07-11
* 4 Seasons.
* Seasonal spirits modified.
* Events linked to seasons.
* Sea weed and other new trees.
* Clockwork horror.
* Unique tree lords.

Would devs or betatesters care to tell more to us about seasons? Are they still in the game?

Yes, seasons are still there and have various effects (if not the same as DomI, then close).

Dominions I doesn't have seasons...
Very good that they are still in Dominions II.
A lot has happened "behind the curtains" in the progress of this game.

One additional thing that seasons influence are seasonal spirits. They are stronger when its their season (example, summer lions during summer) and weakest during opposite season. There is also heat/cold effect on provinces during seasons (I'm sure you can guess what kind of effects http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif )

Aaaaahhhh, grrrrreat!
Now, if i could just play a god with 6 or 4 in Blood, 6 or 4 in Nature and with Dominion under eternal spring...
You can earn a cookie by naming this god/demon i am thinking of...

BTW, is there an easy way to tell which season it is? (I'm not sure how to tell in Dom I)

Yes. When you read Messages at the start of the turn, at the top will be listed current season and year of the game. You can get back to those Messages easily by pressing "m" key shortcut (or go through options - longer way).
