Does anyone have any idea when MM is planning on releasing the scenario editor? I know they are very busy now with the patch so I don't want to pressure, but any rough estimates?

Well, I think we can make some intelligent guesses based on what we know:

1) Another post earlier mentioned that Aaron said today that they would TRY to get the coming patch out in February. He also stated that there are a lot of issues remaining to be resolved in the patch.

2) After the pending patch, there are still a lot of things to be addressed in the next patch after that.

3) Unless Aaron has already started development on the Editor it will take several months at the very least to see it in a releasable form.

Based on all of that, my feeling is that we will not see it until this Summer sometime at the earliest. Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

At this point I hope MM just concentrates on the issues still to be resolved in the existing game code. There's still a lot to be done..

Actually, a 'scenario editor' is the same as a savegame editor. Since SE already loads and saves its own game format, most of the work is done. An editor could be produced pretty quickly if there was nothing else to do. But right now I don't think Aaron has time to wipe his behind between all the bugs that need fixed and features yet to be added. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif When the game is more-or-less complete he can worry about a scenario editor.
