if the Fire Rate of a weapon is 3 - does that mean the weapon fires 3 times every turn or every 3rd time?

It means it fires every third turn.

Hey, Thats an interesting point - weapons which fire more than once a turn.

At the moment, the only way to do something mlike this is to reduce the size of the weapon and put more weapons in, which isn't the same thing!

Maybe have weapons that fire two different pulses in the same turn. Sorta a shield generator knock out, then an anti-armour shell almost straight after. . .

. . . it'd just look interesting - thats all.

I tried, and I couldn't get it to work. It doesn't like weapons with fractional/decimal RoFs.

I think this may have been discussed in another thread - you may want to check older Posts.

I also think someone was looking into the aspect of how Point Defence fires more than once per combat turn - or maybe it had to do with "opportunity fire". However, it (Point Defense) does SEEM to fire more than once per turn. Whether it does or not, I don't know for sure...

umm, in my copy of the game PD weapons go offline for the rest of the turn after they fire. opportunity or otherwise.
