I intend to review the changes to the AI_DesignCreation, Settings, TechArea and AI_Research files and will respond on this thread with anything of interest.

Actually, there's also that change in number of units per turn fighter bays, satellite bays and mine launchers can launch per turn.

From what you posted so far, does that mean that MM didn't even touch the rest of the ai files? There is still a lot work to be done to those files. When you get a chance after finishing the patch comparison document, could you let me know what you thought of my mod. Yes and no. Even though the files were not changed, I think MM spent an extraordinary amount of time changing the way the files interact within the game (via hard-coded changes and based on the fixes list since 1.19). This is what we were looking for, since we can always modify the data\ai files. I really cannot offer further opinion until I play some games later this week.

I've gone over the default_ai files since installing the new patch, and I haven't seen any changes to them. I'm going to be updating my mod soon, for now just use my old mod to test. Let me know when you need the next Version. Thanks http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif

SunDevil- which default files are you saying did not change? All of those AI files that I indicated below have a newer date/time/size than those included in the 1.19 patch and do actually have some changes in them (the most extensive being the strategies file).

I have reviewed the AI_Research and AI_Design Creation files and believe that not a lot has changed (Defence Ship has been deleted though).
I will post a mod for these files on the weekend once I have had a chance to get into a game.

Gee, I hope that doesn't mean that calls to "Defense Ships" will no longer work. A lot of us need that ship type to get more variety in the AI ship designs and to be able to control what the AI is producing. and yes, since I am still on the board's at this late hour, it means I am still at work and not at home downloading the new patch http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif

Yeah, EDT - I get a little fuzzy when I eat all 3 meals at my office (I am typically at my office at 0645, hence the reason why I am the Boards fairly early).

SectType.txt (changed only a typo)
TechArea.txt (only decreased max ship construction level from 10 to 9)

\AI Directory

Default_AI_DesignCreation.txt
Default_AI_Construction_Vehicles.txt (only increased # fighters in several AI states)
Default_AI_Strategies.txt

\Pictures\Races (all individual races)

[Race]_AI_DesignCreation.txt

Since tThe zip file is so small, I decided to just attach it to this thread. Sorry for those that do not have Word, but that is all I have. I will also post comments as I review. Hope this helps!

FYI - I just placed a zip file in the Modders/Help section that contains .pdf files comparing the five files the changed with this patch (Version 1.41) to those contained in the Last patched Version (Version 1.35). The five files are:

\Data\Settings.txt
\Data\Facility.txt
\Data\Components.txt
\Data\VehicleSize.txt
\Data\Abilities.txt

While most of the changes are self-explanatory and are described in the history.txt once you install the patch - I know some of you are like me and like to see exactly what changed to make sure it does not effect your mods! Have fun.

For GE, I don't know if you have yet corrected it but in your DesignCreation_135c Version there is a typos: 2 time the word Range in
Shadows_AI_DesignCreation.txt
Default Strategy
:= Maximum Weapons Range Range
Otherwise it works correctly with patch 1.41 and TDM-ModPacK 1.72.

I can confirm what you say, i have made the fixes myself and it works with 1.35 / 1.41
