This post is to used as a list of issues not resolved by the latest patch. These changes need to be made so the ai will function properly.
1. Engine Family numbering: Need to add increasing numeral to each engine, so the ai will use the most up to date engine. This issue was fixed by a mod after Last patch.

Well, I haven't tested this in 1.27 but here is a quote from 1.24 Version history:

Well, in the components.txt file, the engine numeral numbers are right back where they were when there was a problem.

maybe the AI was fixed so that the engine numbers are not an issue anymore. anyone test this yet?

Maybe so, but just because a workaround was found to fix the bug before the patch doesn't mean MM had to implement that same workaround in the patch. They do have access to the source code, you know. http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif
Let's hold off on reporting things like this until tested, unless it's an outstanding issue that we know hasn't been fixed, and then test it again anyway just to make sure.

I agree. I have personally sent 3 saved games regarding this issue and lots of other people have reported this as well. It is very probable that this has been fixed inside code, not by using the .txt files.
