View Full Version : 1.27: Back to the AI schizophrenia ?

I am just in my first game with 1.27. One thing that strikes me is that on one turn, the AIs offer me a treaty and two turns later, they declare it dust (and sometimes even declare war). After that, it is the other direction again: relations improve and they offer me another treaty.
I am not sending any ships into their territory and as far as I can see they do not send any into mine. So what is the reason for this strange behaviour (it is like in the 1.01 Version)?

maybe that AI race is like that, Ity says in the manual that treaties are at a wim> there is one race that did this to me until I started building intell centers and found that they were breaking the treaty so they could seal my new tech and then would send me a new treaty until I discover something new.

Now THAT is a cool strategy. I'm impressed that an AI would actually do something like that.

No it is the same with all the races. The Phong have just broken our partnership treaty only to accept a new trade treaty the next turn. I am at war with 3 races which have "brotherly" feelings for me (they declared war and refuse any peace treaty).

MEE?
------------------
Assume you have a 1kg squirrel
E=mc^2
E=1kg(3x10^8m/s)^2=9x10^16J
which, if I'm not mistaken, is equivilent to roughly a 50 megaton nuclear bomb.
Fear the squirrel.

If you are too big and tough the AI will declare war with you for that reason alone? Is that what is going on?
