Looks nice indeed. I have to admit i think the warbase is not an actuell model, its looks exactly like a "cut and past" warbase vom SE 4. The ship is nice though, i didnt think graphics would be that good !

Trust me, both the ship and starbase are rendered .3ds Versions of the (.x) models used in se5. The artist working on the 3d models is doing (and has done) an excellent job.

The proof is in the pudding as they say..

This info from the Chat log..

<Count_Brass> Will there by NEW races? The Sithrak would be a cool addition to SE 5... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

<Malfador> We definitely have the Amonkrie, Norak, Eee, CueCappa, Drushocka, and Jraenar.

<Malfador> We'll most likely also have the Terrans, Xiati, and Abbidon as well.

<Malfador> The Sithrak will definitely make an appearance in SE5. How exactly they show up is a mystery...

..as you can see no mention of the 'phong' but you never know, the game still has a lot of dev left.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Sounds great. I imagine once we all learn how to make these ships all the old SEIV races will be redone by somebody... I imagine half the fan created shipsets will be as well http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

I guess when it comes out we'll have to renew the "Phongs Head Cantina and Bar Grill" brand to another alien species http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Aaron listed all the people working on se5 in the chat session, read the chat logs to find their names. Really, I'm surprised you haven't allready.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

P.S. the links to the chat logs are in the '#se4 chat' thread.

Interesting... all this time I just thought you meant you wanted to be an alpha tester for SE5 or something http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Rarely do you get anything other than monthly with real web hosting service (Geocities type affairs do not count). http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif It is actually a bug in the software which tracks the bandwidth. All better now though.

That image is very nice. I am pleased with the images thus far, they are alot better then I expected to say the least.

Clark, here is the archive for the session. Chat Logs (http://se4irc.spaceempires.net/archives.php) The two sessions are of course the most recent at the top. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Thanks! I had just found it and was reading it... looks mightry interesting. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

David, or someone else (because I simply can't be bothered http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif) tell Araon he is doing a fantastic job and that he needs to make sure to include one thing...

The ability to record a battle.

Think about it, trading battle video's of the greatest (or worst) fights of all time. I think someone mentioned the option in the chat, but I don't recall it being addressed.

no need to record every battle, just make it an option for those battles you want to see. (might be a solution for PBW to, since you could see how the results were achieved!)

I think it's possible to record battles right now http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
I remember something about software which is able to record everything that happaned on you screen (the main purpose was to make presentations) and to dump it to AVI, EXE or SWF. Unfortunately, I don't remember titles or company names. Search in the net for this. I pretty sure you'll find what you need.

[Edit: ok, found it]
CamStudio 2.1 (http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/11/2/6/11-2-6-5.shtml) - free.
Small note: this is older Version of this tool - latest Versions belong to Macromedia and called RoboDemo, and they're shareware.
