I am new to SE4, but now have the 1.27b patch installed replacing 1.27a. I reinstalled the game from the CD. My problem is that when I build intelligence centers, they apparently produce no intelligence points. This is a high technology cost game. Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

Please forgive me asking the basic questions first. Do you have a spaceport in the system?
(If you go to Colony and click production, does it show the intel points in parentheses indicating no spaceport in the system?)

On the turn that the Log reported my first Intelligence Centers were built, the Planet Screen showed the planets' Production including Intelligence Points, but on the Races screen under Intelligence, the centers weren't producing any points yet. On the next turn, they started producing what they were supposed to. Is that what you're seeing?

That is apparently what confused me. I had built Intelligence Facilties on a world, then saw that there were no points available for use. Then I built the spaceport, still no joy. But the next turn, they came on line. Thanks for the help.

Both research & intelligence seem to work this way: points generated on one turn are applied to projects the NEXT turn.
