A program or web site that provides semi-realtime desktop news for WinXP? I've tried a few different sites with the Active Desktop feature, but that uses the Synchronization Manager, which most sites don't like. (I'm sure there's more news than the standard Robots.txt file gives me. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif) I'm looking for something that I can use for local news as well as national/international news.

RSS agregators - millions of apps around, choose any. (Difficult to recommend something, I'm using built-in Opera RSS).

Klipfolio (http://www.serence.com/site.php?action=ser_products,prod_klipfolio) - handy news stickies on your desktop. Free, afaik.
