View Full Version : Glitch in planet trading?

I was recently given a planet in a trade in a PBW game. For some reason, a squadron of fighters orbiting the planet was also transferred to me. A second squadron and a carrier orbiting the same planet stayed with the original player.

Has anybody seen a glitch like this before?

Maybe they were on the planet when you received it? It's the only way I can think of how you got them.
Still doesn't explain why they were in space though.

Was the second squadron in the carrier?

It's probably a 'glitch' in the order of carrying out actions in a turn. If he 'gave' you the planet and ordered it to launch fighters int he same turn (planning to give you ONLY the planet but not all the cargo contents) it might have transfered to you and then launched the fighters. Ask him if that's what he did. If so, I would call it a misunderstanding of how the game works rather than a glitch, myself. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Turn order is correct, gift is first, launching next.
Interesting though - I thought planets, like ships, clear all orders when being traded. How about trading a planet with a resource converter and orders to convert XXX tons of minerals to rads ?? ...

Interesting possibility. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

... or could you just off-load most of the population, scrap the facilities and give the 'abandon planet' order -- resulting in your trade item 'self destructing' after it changes hands and you get whatever you arranged to trade for it?
