I used to have a program called 3dsconv which converted 3ds files to X; can't remember what ever happened to it though. Might have been part of the DirectX SDK, but that's over 200 MB... LithUnwrap can convert between formats though, if I recall correctly...

Lithunrwap can indeed do conVersions from/to those two file formats.

Thanks. I already have Lithunwrap; I guess I was just thinking of it as just an unwrapper. Unfortunatly, it has too many Groups for Lithunwrap.

Um...ok, maybe I'm just to tired or something, but I can't find a download link there.

Oh, and could you shorten the link, please? Thanks.

Sorry, I thought I edited that...

Try this one:

Got a link to just the conv3ds tool without the rest of the silly DirectX SDK (they don't even ship it with the SDK anymore I found out, you have to get DirectX 7 http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

there is a tool called Crossroads which I think can do what you want, but it might be a little buggy.

EDIT: Well.. it supports 3DS, and writes to .X, but it can read .X
