Is it possible to resupply ships from other ships? Or do I have to send them back to a resupply depot?

Create a fleet. At the end of the turn, all ships in that fleet will split the pooled supplies. This makes it a good idea to have 'Resupply' vessels. Early in the game, it will simply be a ship with a LOT of supply storage. Mid-way through the game it will simply be a vessel with some Solar Panels, and later in the game it will just be a small vessel with a Quantum Reactor. Nonetheless, all three vessels have the same effect...Contributing a larger share of supplies to the fleet than any other vessel.

You can fleet to a base. Since this can be built any where that means you can resupply of them.

All you have to do is fleet with them over one turn and since bases have unlimited supplies means you get fully supplied for the next turn.

Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten all about that. I discovered that by experimentation while playing. Works nice for wormhole defense fleets... Just form up with the base, and voila...No supply issues for them.

The other trick is to equip some or all of your ships with a resupply pod. If I've researched the tech, I always give my ships one, even if they have been equipped with solar collectors - sometimes, its just so tempting to just let your fleet keep fighting, rather than send it back for resupply.

As a note, I hardly ever build supply ships (prefer to keep pumping out warships), and prefer to research solar collectors or resupply tech if I'm fighting at distance from bases.
