<Jeez, it got quiet http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif Did everyone go to lunch?>
...when there are no wormholes? There is a certain level of engine that is supposed to allow interstellar travel, but, I never could get the ships to move through ether-space

the only way to move from system to system with out wormholes is to use wormholes,.....
(sounds like a bad punch line) you must research stellar manipulation and create a wormhole to the next system in order to move there.
there are no "special" engines that let you by pass wormholes.

If there are not any wormholes you will have to research Stellar Manipulation until you get the Gravitational Quantum Resonator. You will probably want to get at least Gravitational Quantum Resonator III, which is Stellar Manipulation level 5, I believe.

Hmmm...interesting. The text associated with the various engines lead you to believe otherwise. But, the results don't lie http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif
