Any Idea as to what type of machine I will need to play V?

It is far too early to tell. Probably equivalent to Starfury, maybe a little higher. Depends on how detailed the combat is, really.

FYI: The ships are actal .3ds Versions of the .x files used in SE5. they were rendered over the background which is a high-rez .bmp. Also, the ships have been scaled up (made bigger) for artistic effect. I don't think they will be seen that big in the actual game. So when scaled down, the textures look better.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I bet that within 10 years, a computer with specs like that would be considered out of date, and obsolete. Especially the Terrabyte of free disk space...I bet it won't take more than a few years before hard drives that size will be standard.

Did you say .3ds!! Oh yeah!
Wait untill SE V comes along, then I can start making my own ships. I might not have been chosen to make pics for SE V, but I can still make them for various mods!

Timstone, I said ".3ds Versions' of the models. The game will be using .x format for the models. the .3ds model I used was sent to me by Aaron. I believe that the artist doing the models is delivering all the models in both .3ds and .x format. but the .3ds Versions are not going to be used in-game.

but fear not, prety much any .3ds can be converted.

Just wanted to clarify that.

Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Yerah, I understand. That was explained before. And luckily I can convert .3ds to .x too. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
