Reverend Zombie, I don't know why you cast Wrath of God but I'm going to have to consider that a declaration of war.
I'm taking no hostile action this turn, but unless you somehow explain yourself, I'm going to attack you next turn, NAP or no.

In consideration of the fact that:
1) TC and I had a NAP, one of whose specific provisions was that hostile spells would not be employed against the other party,
2) TC has cast Wrath of God which has killed 100+ of my troops Last turn and the same again this turn,
3) TC has not responded to my demand that he explain himself,
I hereby declare that TC is in violation of the terms of our NAP and that I reserve the right to open hostilies against TC at any time.

Though I suspect you were moving to attack anyway and want to use the Wrath as convenient pretext, here goes:
My Wrath is a purely defensive measure to keep Ermorian hordes out of my domain, and it does not target you specifically, any more than the effects of the Well of Misery target me.
Surely the loss of undead chaff is not engouh to cancel a NAP?

To be honest, the Wrath of God mostly killed chaff, which I don't really mind. But due to the fact that I don't get a summary of who gets killed each turn, the micro-management of needing to look at each army and see which troops I've lost is incredibly tedious.
However, you did kill a couple of Mound Kings this turn, and also this turn, I summoned a Telestic Animate that started out being feeble-minded, and I have no explanation other than that it was wounded by Wrath of God and got the affliction.

That's probably because you just noticed that big army of vine ogres on your doorstep. However, I swear that I was not moving them to attack you. When I saw the huge number of losses I was taking from Wrath of God Last turn, I Gatewayed / Fairy Trodded / Cloud Trapezed them in from my capital.
Reverend Zombie said:

Well of Misery only gives you good effects. The problem with Wrath of God is that it works outside your dominion as well and hits indiscriminately. If you'd cast Purgatory instead, it would be a nice defensive measure without annoying me so long as I kept out of your dominion.
Reverend Zombie said:

Losing chaff is okay, but not getting a summary of who gets killed where and thus forcing me to check everything is making this a micro-management nightmare for me! Arggghh! I hate you! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I don't think our orders were saved, so we had to do something, or nothing would happen.
All my troops had default orders when I looked at this turn, I think--there were no move orders, no forge orders, etc.
Maybe I picked "redo from start," but I am almost positive I didn't even get that option.
deccan
December 28th, 2004, 10:30 AM
So what's the status for this game? For my part, I have to agree with Reverend Zombie that trying to redo our orders as they were originally would be impossible. I think everyone should be allowed to redo their turn as they see fit. It won't be cheating as we are all on the same footing.

I've been pretty distracted by other things.

But what the heck, I'm still in. I haven't missed a turn yet.
Reverend Zombie
December 31st, 2004, 11:42 AM
The holidays have been hectic, but I have not missed a turn (yet), either.
I plan to submit the current turn before the deadline, but then I'll be out of town for the weekend. After this weekend, things should calm down in terms of real-life time commitments.
What is our current hosting cycle time? I would propose we switch to 48 hours-QH if we are not there already. Turns are fairly time-consuming at this stage of the game.
deccan
December 31st, 2004, 08:07 PM
Hmm, I logged in to upload my turn before the 24 deadline, but it looks like Argitoth extended it to 48 hours. Also, it looks to me like Callistas isn't playing the game at all now. If so, Argitoth could you set him to AI? It would be better than if he did nothing at all against my attacks every turn and he still has significant forces and gem income. An AI could conceivably use them to hurt me a bit.

New turn up. I'd like to inform everyone that I'm going on holiday on the 20th January. Since we are currently on 48 hours turns, this means that even though I'd like to try to continue playing even while on holiday, I realize that this means that I'd still stale intermittently, depending on my travel schedule, and with Argitoth eliminated from the game, it's too much to ask for the host to babysit the server constantly.
Therefore, I would like to Argitoth if he would be interested in taking over my position. Hey, I'm a freaking hyperpower here, you know you want to. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Argitoth
January 12th, 2005, 09:43 PM

TC, that's twice now that my water queens got ghost ridered. I highly doubt that Marignon was responsible as I am running riot over his lands with Call of the Winds and Call of the Wilds and he has not ghost ridered me once in response.
Unless you want to try to deny that it was you, I'm going to take hostile action next turn.
deccan
January 18th, 2005, 10:04 AM
I would like to request a move to 72 hours. TC, I forgot to mention that Flames from the Sky. I kind of doubt that Marignon was behind that as well.

I have every unique in the game I think, bar the Demon Lords that I have no interest in getting. TC has seen a lot of my good stuff, but he hasn't seen my reserve forces consisting of several hundred vampires with accompanying Vampire Lords and Wraith Lords.
