Okay I've been hearing LOTS AND LOTS of good things about Honor Harrington books but the only problem is, the only book stores where I live you have to order it because they don't keep any of them on the shelves.
Problem is I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START lol so any HH fans please please please give me a complete list of the HH series from book 1 on. PLEASE http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

You want War of Honor, the tenth book in the series, because it includes all of the previous books on a CD (at least the hardcover does). You can then read the first nine in HTML format on your computer. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Interesting though normally I like actually READING a BOOK in my hands because it is easier on my eyes.
OH and does anyone know who they used as the model for this woman?

www.baen.com (http://www.baen.com), the publishers, should have all or most of them floating around in either the free library or webscriptions, both of which can be downloaded in about five formats, including html and plain text.

I've never read the Honor Harrington series. But that model just reminds me of Susan Ivanova from Babylon 5.
"I would like you to take the time to learn the Babylon 5 mantra: Ivanova is always right. I will listen to Ivanova. I will not ignore Ivanova recommendations. Ivanova is god. And: If this ever happens again, Ivanova will personally rip your lungs out."

Yeah Ivanova always was a turn on lol http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
So far I've read chapters One and Two of "On Basilisk Station" and I like it, good writing so far and very much like a Horatio Hornblower style book only in space http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif.

The order of the books:
- On Basilisk Station
- The Honor of the Queen
- The Short Victorious War
- Field of Dishonor
- Flag in Exile
- Honor Among Enemies
- In Enemy Hands
- Echoes of Honor
- Ashes of Victory
- War of Honor
There are other books with short stories in the same universe, and some sub-series that take place in the same universe with characters other than Honor Harrington, but the "base series" is the one above, with 10 books...

A very good series... have read all 10 more than once http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif Your best bet for finding them would be eith er a place like Borders Books (have often seen them there), or a small specialty bookshop that carries a lot of sci-fi.
I'd definitely recommend this series to any who haven't read it.

Yah it's not free though...
Hey question why would someone make an entire series that they wrote available Online for free? WOuldn't that cost them a LOT of money? or are those illegal because if they are illegal I definately won't download em.

They are not all available Online - only On Basilisk Station and Honor of the Queen. They are available on the publishers site, {here} (http://www.baen.com/library/). The other books there are not part of the HH series, although Changer of Worlds is one of the anthologies of short stories in the HH universe.
However, it is true that if you buy War of Honor in hardcover, it comes with a CD containing the entire series in electronic format.
As a side note, Shadows of Saganami is not the next book in the HH series.. It's set in the HH universe, but it's not a direct continuation from War of Honor.

No one's mentioned the "other" place for books--your friendly neighborhood library! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Depends on who's distributing them. If you're getting it Online from the Book Distributor or an authorized site, then you're fine. If you're getting it from a fan site run by a 10 year-old taiwanese boy, then you might want to think twice.
eBooks haven't really 'broken out' yet (in popularity), so the hit (if there is one) to the pocketbooks of Baen &/or Weber has been minor. If anything, making the books available Online for free helps to attract new readers who might get hooked by reading a few chapters, and then go out and buy the printed Version themselves.
I've got the entire HH run myself, and can't wait for the sequal to War of Honor to come out (whenever that may be).

Do you have a webscriptions account? Generally, only the first two books are available in the free library, the belisarous(sp?) series being an accidental exception at three.
And let me take this moment to say, go read Digital Knight. Modern Fantasy with a twist of lemon and a slice of reality. Then, buy the webscription Version, so he'll make more of that series.

I heard a rumour (just a rumour, mind) that the next HH book should be out next summer.

Um I have a link that has all the books and all of them look complete at 33+ chapters each.
I am not going to post the link, though it is a Baen website http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif I found it by accident in fact, though if it's illegal I don't wanna get my arse busted http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Does it look anything like this: http://www.baen.com/library/ ?
That's the free library. 100% free, 100% legal, 100% with the permission of the author. Only the first two books of the series, except for the exception I mentioned in a previous post.

Well that's the odd thing it bears the Baen symbol and has Baen.com in it so I don't know what it is.
Is it possible I just oopsed my way into the paying section?

Possible. In which case, it's still a good idea to report how you did it.

I just typed in Honor Harrington and clicked on every link I could to try and find some info on the universe HH takes place in. Next thing I know I'm looking at a complete Online novel named on Basilisk station, when I hit the index button it took me to the list with all 10 books plus some anthology books.
How do I report that, and who too?
I too would like them to stay in buisness as those are some darn good books and I was thinking about buying WoH since it comse with the CD with all the other books on it http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
BTW does anyone know where I can find a good tech page for the HH universe because knowing what some of this tech is might help me better undestand some of the stuff being done.

If I recall, there are some tech indicies in the back of a couple of the books, which are probably your best source.
However, while there are a number of sites out there, such as {this one} (http://www.geocities.com/fahsbender/hh.html), be warned that almost all sites contain spoilers for someone who hasn't read the series.
Generally, DW himself explains each tech at one point in the series in the books themselves.

I bought all of mine as ebooks from Fictionwise.com. I don't mind that I paid for them though since I really enjoyed them even if Harrington's superskills stretches credulity after a while.
