View Full Version : Mod Errors on Start Up

You know the ones. They say various fields can't be found in the ai's txt file. I guess this appears because people don't complete the file or something.
Anyway, these errors appear during movement replay as well. Getting a bit tired of them.
What's the easy fix for this? Copying and renaming from another race or something?
Any help appreciated.

I keep hoping that someone will write a little 3rd party program to do a search/fix of those files. Maybe a show and let you type in something to put there. But even if it did a blind "put in something as a default" I would be happy.
I started with a huge collection of races that I wanted to play, and got so tired of moving races that had errors I finally just begged for someone not using any MODs to zip up that directory for me of whatever races they were using.

Nothing to do with not completing the races, just outdated AI files that were not updated for Gold...
Ruatha's SE4 Companion can go through all installed shipsets and update those with missing lines to be Gold-compatible.

Yet another reason for me to change out the mod launcher for his app.

Don't be so quick to do that... it still seems to be fairly buggy...

Well, guess it can be useful as a "fix-it" for the empires/shipset problem.
