Well I've found another.... I set mines out and other ships can go right through then and nothing.......

Whose ships? Yours, an ally's, or a possible/actual enemy's?

Enemy ships, also sats seem to work OK on the out put side of a warp point.

If you have *any* treaty with an AI player, then they will ignore your mines and satellites.

I had a similar problem. built and layed over 400 mines and they didn't go off when the enemy flew thru them....
Turned out I hadn't put a warhead on them...
Check design to make sure they have warheads.

Also, good armor (like organic Lvl III) will just basically ignore mines. Check out the "whys" in at least 1 other thread (won't try to repeat 'em here) but it basically boils down to that each mine acts as 1 combat turn and if just one mine doesn't destroy the armor on the first try, all damage is ignored. Second one goes off and its ignored, etc, etc, etc...

As for "Organic" armor I have not seen that yet, yes I put warheads in I just for getto put colony type in (lol)as to treaty I did have one before but not at the time when they where goin in and out of mines, BTW they finaly did go BOOM
