View Full Version : Access Violation Bug? Has this happened to YOU?

Greetings Gents! Small problem I'm having here and wondering if it's related to my using these 2 mods together:

FQMDeluxe & TDM-Modpack 340.

I've gotten up to @ turn 76 and am now getting an error message pretty close to:

"Access Violation 4405c8b, Read Address 005beb12"

...when one of my ships tries to enter a particular Star System. The System has 3 lanes into it and I've circled @ and tried all 3 as I'm friendly with the locals. I get that error message and the game just freezes.

I thought perhaps it was just one or 2 of the WP's being clogged up with mines/sats/ships but then it happened on the other side of the map as well with a different Star System.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this mid game? Is it even fixable?

Would really be a shame to have to start over again as this is by FAR the most interesting game I've had solo in SEIV. So many planets, so little time hehe....


Any advice or insight on this problem would be most appreciated.

If you can, save the map and try (i said try) to open the map in the map editor. See if you can open that system in the map editor and let us know what that system contains. Maybe then Fyron will jump in with some insights once he sees the problem.

Bah....Didn't set the option to save maps when I started game...Tried opening other AI players and they all crash when even clicking on the star circle to target it

Do this,

1. Turn all players to human control (Via options Menu)

Play each player.

Should allow you to get buy the problem. Most likely an AI is doing something like retrofitting some ship that cannot be retrofitted.

Good luck.

After you do the turn, set players back to AI control.

Ok I tried turning off AI for all the different races and this is happening all over the place...during the automatic moves at start of the turn it's happened to 5 of the 18 races, so I can't even stall them and check the systems it happens in...any other ideas? (thanks for the attentions here btw)
