Ok, I was going to put a screenshot up, but I messed up, so I guess I can't. Anyhow, during tactical combat in an SP game I was playing today, an enemy ship ended up with 710/710 damage. So...he was totally out of hitpoints, but the ship was still there http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif . All components in the component display were marked as destroyed, except for a lone organic armor (I was using the Shard Cannon, which of course bypasses armor). Can anyone explain this oddness??

Yeah, sorry about that. Seems I messed up somehow when I put the screenshot up, and was editing the post and adding details as you were looking at the pic.

Indeed. It is quite impossible to read any of the text. If you need a good program to save the image in non-bitmap format, you could try IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com) .

The damage display when organic armor is in play is bugged. It does not updated properly for regeneration until the ship is hit again. The ship doesn't really have 710 damage, as a component regenerated, but the damage was not updated for the regeneration. I am not entirely sure why it would ever display 710/710 damage, but this is probably the reason...

Ok, that makes sense to a point. However, there was only ONE organic armor on the ship. So, since the Organic armor was the Last component left, and there were no other organic armors on the ship, there should be nothing to trigger the regeneration ability and nothing to regenerate, since it can not regenerate itself....can it?? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/confused.gif So this known bug you mentioned should not apply in this situation, unless I'm totally mistaken. (Which is likely http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif )

Yes... why would it not be a bug? It is just a display bug, but a bug nonetheless...

This was a modded game, I was using the Devnull Mod. I'm not totally sure, but I think I've also seen this happen once before in an unmodded game. But my memory could be failing me here.

Are you certain that the ship had no other regnerative components? Space Monster ships, for example, have lots of components that can regenerate.

Devnull Mod, than it is not the problem I was thinking of. Sounds like a glitch in the system. Can you restore from a saved point and try it again to see if the bug repeats itself?

Unfortunately, it was a tactical combat where this happened, and I highly doubt I will be able to get the EXACT conditions the same http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I will try, but I highly doubt it.
Fyron, I just checked, and there were no other components that could regenerate. It was a Taera heavy cruiser, and it had one organic armor that was the Last component left. Nothing else had the regeneration ability.

I used to get a bug like this on an early Version of Atrocites Star Trek Mod. It was Armour aswell, it would destroy all but one and show up and completely destroyed but it wouldnt blow up.
If you try to recreate it use the simluator....

Wasn't there a bug discussion about components that ended up with non-whole numbers for their Structural points? IIRC that would cause things to show completely damaged but wouldn't be destroyed. Could this be a symptom of the same thing?
