View Full Version : The Cleansing (Prelude story to the Star Trek Mod)

It Begins:
In a galaxy where anarchy is law, there is only one kind of alien you can trust. A dead one.
In this galaxy, Races hold their space with unyielding strength, but when strange new Races come knocking on their door, space becomes a little crowded.
Now, where one Race held firm, two will square off. But when they begin to understand one another, alliances are formed and treaties are signed.
This is a tale of many allies, enemies, and neutrals in a galaxy where all has been lost, and rebuilt many times, a galaxy that is now evolving into A New Age.
I have posted the back story for the Star Trek Mod if any one is interested in a long read. The Cleansing (http://www.astmod.com/startrek/backstory.html)
Enjoy.
Comments welcome O/C.

Yep. Good idea. I'd change the 1500 years in the first story to about 5000, though. I once read a book about a horde that scoured a galaxy of all organic material and useful minerals and then moved to the next. They'd return a million years later for a repeat. It was called "The Hour of the Horde" or "The Silver Horde" or something like that.

Did you add a new part to this story. I remember reading the first two parts but the third one I have no memory of.

It would not surprise me. By now any idea that one can think up has already been thought up and most likely used in a story. Thanks for the info though. I have never heard or read the book and thought that the concept I was using for this story when I wrote so many years ago, was an original one. It saddens me greatly to think someone beat me to it.

I don't recall? I know there is a fourth chapter to the story, but I have not plans on posting it. It delth with the surprise attack the Breen had pulled off and the consequences after the Dominion War was over.

It's still original - You hadn't heard of that when you wrote it.

I liked the story, its a very creative and orignal backstory and I loved the way you answered why were using warp points to get between systems and not warp drive http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif
