Daggerfall's install won't run for me. Fortunatly, I found I had it already on another drive. But, when I copied it over, the childguard turned off. So, if anyone here has Daggerfall, could you check to see which file turning on the childguard modifies and then tell me what to change in my Version of that file, please? Thanks.

If it turned off when you copied it, it is probably a registry setting. I could be wrong of course. Why won't the install run?

A whole bunch of hex error Messages, not one of which I can make sense of. I can only catch it in dos mode. I could put that Win98 startup floppy in and copy it down. Tommorrow.
I searched the registry; if it's there, I didn't see it.

If you want to capture the hex error Messages into a file, run install (from DOS) with a little bit extra at the end of the line - something like <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>install > Errors.txt </pre><hr /> then open up the newly-created Errors.txt in the same directory.

Pity; just a registry dump on an illeagal operation - very useful to someone who has total access to the source code, not much use for anyone else.
You might see if there is a setup.exe in there, rather than just the install.exe.

Just a sound setup.
