I was playing a cluster map, large galaxy, not all warp points connected game. (v 1.27 no mods) I hadn't encountered any other empires yet, but when I check my empire's history I see reference to other empires, not to mention events in the futre! I'm using a newly created race, so I don't think the history is "left over" from Last time.
I've already sent this to MM w/ a savegame.
Has anyone else seen this?

Assume you have a 1kg squirrel
E=mc^2
E=1kg(3x10^8m/s)^2=9x10^16J
which, if I'm not mistaken, is equivilent to roughly a 50 megaton nuclear bomb.
Fear the squirrel.

There is a little 'edit' button at the bottom of the post, in case you want to fix the problem instead of complaining about it.

As a matter of fact I did know, but then I wouldn't have an excuse to say "AAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHHH".

To get back on topic, the history file is saved in the Savegame folder; and it doesn't get erased when you delete a game from the SE4 menu. The "Delete Game" order only seems to delete the actual game file (*.gam). So, if you're using the same name for the new game, it probably picked up a history file from an old game... maybe it'll get overwritten once you've had an event worthy of being written to the history file in the new game?

I was wondering if it was something like that.

I did a little more digging: copies of the history and stats files (and combat replay files, if any) are also stored in the "History" folder. So you may have to delete them in BOTH places when starting a new game...
