I have posted a little Java research browser over in the Mod archive which makes it easier to mod the research file of Space Empires IV for rookies like me who don't know the tech tree by heart.
Features a Swing GUI browser of research areas with detailed info about each tech. Definitely easier than scrolling through the txt-file.
