Since the maintenance yesterday, getting forum errors when I click "My Home". First time, it wants me to log in (even though it offers me the chance to logout on the upper left).
Second time I click "My Home", I get in. But my address book is gone. I get this error:
SQL ERROR: Mon, Jan 24 2005 06:20:11 -0600 Database error only visible to forum administrators
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/forum/public_html/threads/mysql.inc.php:219) in /home/forum/public_html/threads/ubbt.inc.php on line 318

And all the emoticons seem to be, hmmmmm, in a "world of hurt".

Most of those issues should be resolved. The maintenance is we moved the forum to a more stable server. There may also be issues if you have cached pages from the old server, but are on the new. That is probably why you had the issues with logging in.

Seems to be working just fine for me. I just had to relog in and all worked fine. Although it did throw me off for a bit until I realized my cookies were no longer valid and that I was not having a twisted reality nightmare. (Have had a few of those, very very very bad.)

I have another issue. My login doesn't work anymore. I renewed it but why did I have to? Doesn't the new server recognize the cookies for the old server?

Apparently it doesn't, I had to log in when the new server came online too. Not that big a deal but had to really think to remember my password!

Yeah, I had an almost-nightmare experience too, AT... I load up the forums, and all the threads went BACKWARDS! Then I realized I wasn't logged in. Everything back to normal! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

Heh. I appear to have hit the switch-over while browsing last night. Was wondering why I had to re-enter my password.

I had that error. Logging on with my bookmark the site welcomed me but when I went to posts I couldn't add anything, only read. When I then tried to log on I got that error message. I played around refreshing the site and redoing my bookmark until it worked.

The problem seems to be that the when you enter a forum the name of the site isn't used, but the IP address instead. This prevents your browser from knowing to send the proper cookies, and you have to login again at the IP address. I hope this is going to be fixed. It's a bit stupid to have to have double logins for one site.

I just made a post about forum errors. Oops.

That will be changed in the future. I believe Richard is waiting until the other server gets no more hits before switching over the name as the change has not propagated to everyone yet.

It's necessary until everyone has the change propagate. Imagine the nightmare where you haven't moved yet, but you know the IP of the new forum. So you go and type in the IP to connect and then you get sent back to the old forum since we use the name.
It may appear stupid, but it's designed to work this way to make sure everyone can browse the forums even if their ISP's are slow at propagating DNS changes.

Last read pointers aren't working. Every time I have checked back today the messages I read were marked as still unread and I had to start where I had been at the beginning of the day.

My last read pointers seem to only work once.

I'm having the same problem. Earlier today the last read flags were working fine and now they're not.

It's probably because of the IP being used. Since we only have a few folks still hitting the old server I have decided to change the config.

Me again...
Is anyone else who has threads marked for email notification receiving them? I don't seem to be receiving them though I have 5 or 6 checked for email notification.

Try it now, we have a small issue with a config setting on the board.

I think Richard needs to change his signature. I have been waiting for Starfury to come out for some time now, only to find out it's been out for a while!! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/eek.gif

Posted a message to the KOTH thread and I used to get my own message within the minute but now 10 minutes have passed and nothing... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif.
