has same problem...
suggest waiting a bit and try again. Richard was updating something a minute ago (file name)..
error received :

HTTP Error 401

This error indicates that the credentials passed by the client do not have access to the particular resource on the server. This resource could be either the page or file listed in the address line of the client, or it could be another file on the server that is needed to process the file listed on the address line of the client.

Posted this in the other Patch thread but I figured why not try both places...

I can see the patch...

I can click on the patch...

But I CAN'T download the patch!!!!!

Why?? It tells me to disable my download accelerator software - so I do. Then it tells me I need some type of Shrapnelgames password and username??? Wait... maybe that's my forum name/password - I'll check - NOPE that ain't it.

What's goin on??? Any info???

This is just plain cruel.

I have 2000(NT) and used NT for years and I would never go back to 95/98 family.

Me too!! And why isn't the patch available from the MM site?

------------------
Assume you have a 1kg squirrel
E=mc^2
E=1kg(3x10^8m/s)^2=9x10^16J
which, if I'm not mistaken, is equivilent to roughly a 50 megaton nuclear bomb.
Fear the squirrel.

Relax, it is just a permissions goof with IIS 4.0 at shrapnel, they'll have it fixed in no time.

Besides MM probably hasn't posted the patch because he has a RL and is too busy to keep up a webpage and keep up with whiny demands for game fixes.

I appear to be d/l the 1.30 patch with no difficulties from the MM homepage... Try that.

Guys the Malfador download page just links to us.

Aaron doesn't want that kind of traffic on his web server http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon12.gif.

And i don't blame him, most people don't realise the cost to run a private server.

Oh but I do http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon7.gif.

In fact we have our own dedicated server (ie control via PC Anywhere), you don't even want to know what THAT costs http://www.shrapnelgames.com/ubb/images/icons/icon9.gif.
