Take A Trip Off The Beaten Path With Shrapnel Games!
Trip The Blog Fantastic!
"Up until now the only way you could peer into the brilliant minds of Shrapnel Games and our developers was to hack into internal emails or eavesdrop on the office using a high powered laser microphone. Well kids, the days of risking a restraining order are over! Yes, thanks to the power of blogging you can give up your life of sulking around in the bushes and learn everything you want to know (and then some) about Shrapnel Games through our very own blog!....."Full Press Release (http://www.shrapnelgames.com/News/pr_01.htm)
"Welcome to the first installment of the Shrapnel Blog. I thought the best way to begin would be to talk a little about what to expect here. Various Shrapnel personnel will be posting from time to time. Among those to expect to see are Richard, Scott, Mindi, Annette, and some of our development staff if we can get them out of those dark rooms......"To the Shrapnel Blog (http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/blog/)

Oh, c'mon gang, a little less cynicisim, please. This is just like the good old days, when Sarge used to give his comments on the state of things. This could all prove interesting. It will at least kill some time while we wait for SE5.

I think it's great. Basically it's just a way for the Shrapnel people and developers to keep in touch with us customers without it getting lost in the flood of posts in the forum. They could do the same thing by just posting messages on the website pages, but setting it up as a blog makes it easier for them to post their comments. Once it's configured they can make a post anytime they feel like it without having to redo the web pages.

Ah, to hear the words of wisdom and inspiration from our great god, Aaron Hall.
All hail Aaron Hall, as we eagerly await the Fifth Coming of Space Empires!!!

I had my first post all ready to go but they won't use it:
"My knee had a slight itch. I reached out my hand and scratched the knee in
question. The itch was relieved and I was able to continue with my
activities."
Actually, I stole that from someone else's blog, but I thought it was accurate for what I'm doing today.

I think it's great. I mean, as I type this with one hand while holding on to my high-powered laser microphone with the other, whilst a branch causes pain in my behind, I just have to think, how the heck am I staying upmrpovjge[fg[
Ow. That kinda hurt.

My sentiments are somewhere in between. Great that we're getting more info on stuff (probably more often, and more direct, than through Sarge).
But y'all just had to go use the "B" word http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

I'll only flee is focus groups are formed to replace the beta tests.
Otherwise, I don't mind the blog, but I want more sarge. Sarge was the Simon Cowell of Shrapnel.

Just as long as they don't post emo sad poetry or whatever, it is ok with me. It is more information from cool people. Fine by me.
And it has RSS. That by itself is a win. Even MSN Search has RSS feeds! woot

Emptyness, staring back at me.
Once, where there was much,
Now, there is nothing.
Oh well, I can always buy another bucket of ice cream. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Have no fear, there will be links in the future! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Actually I am sure there will be plenty of finishing touches put on the blog, but we wanted to go ahead and make it live so that everyone gets a better idea of what goes on behind the scenes of Shrapnel Games. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/shock.gif

Live?
Oooh, you could set up some microphones around the office, and use speech-to-text software to make it really live! Colour code the text to the microphones so we can see when different people are talking http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

webcam!! you need to set up a webcam. (just set it in a corner overlooking the 1000 cubicles) have it take a pic every minute and then you can generate a kind of stop-motion anim of "a day in the life of shrapnelgames". Now that would be interesting.
hmmm, I wonder who's cubicle gets the most trafic?
Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif
P.S. I know you don't have anything near 1000 cubicles, but I like to immagine that you do. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
