It looks like I'm getting a bad redirect. Anyone has having problems?

Not sure, but the WHOIS information shows as being updated on the 2nd of Feb. Maybe some confusion.

It's a feature!

When will this "feature" be corrected? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I'll bet it's on the "Roun'tuit" list. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

What the hell is www.-ebart.net (http://www.-ebart.net) anyway?
Fyron, if this is a feature I'm not buying your product! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Ebart is the name server according to the WHOIS.
Specifically they appear to be a hosting service.

A very unreliable hostering service form what I have seen. SE.net has had a lot of bad things happen to it in the last year. What are we going to loose this time?
Fyron are they extorting $$ from you? 'Pay us more or your site will be down for good' ala AngelFire style?
Nodachi

Now we're up to a 403 error.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ebart was pulling that kind of stuff. I never trust a host with prices under 10 bucks a months.

SE.net is back online if you are interested.

There was no extortion going on... Such a pessimist!
Check the latest news (http://www.spaceempires.net/home/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=93&mode=&or der=0&thold=0) on SE.net to learn why the site was down...

Is it me, or are some image links broken, i.e. avatars and stuff?
Fyron

Avatars load fine for me (even after clearing browser cache). Seems that it might just be you.

I gotta wonder, how does a Java IRC client manage to bring down a webserver.. Java is client-side after all. O.o
TheDeadlyShoe

jIRC clients usually connect through the server they're hosted on, AFAIK.

SE.net is down again - same sort of problem as before...
Oh well. Perhaps I can attract more attention to my site!

The problem before was do to MiRC chat script or something. I doubt its the same thing twice, or at least I hope note. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
Man I have been getting kind of addicted to that site. It really is THAT good.

Any word on when it will be back up? I am truly missing the site now. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif I have grown accustom to visiting it many times in a day as the forums have become more and more interesting with new and vibrant discussions on modding and such.
Not to mention all of the fan fiction that RD has uploaded over there and new articles that provide for good reading. I love browsing the download sections and reading in the forums how the mods are doing. I miss this.... must have my SE.net....must have it now...!

Both your site and SE.net are great sites. I espeically love SE.net though. It seems to me that it is beginning to take hold with others as the forum has become more and more active.
I love how your site looks and the news you post on Kwok. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Come to think of it, your site and SE.net are the only non shrapnel forums that I visit now on a regular bases regarding SE IV. When was the last time any of you visit universal ship yards, or the Kaut drive yards?

What I really need is more interesting content to lure SE surfers. Perhaps the fact that the Space Food Empires site is currently up and in the process of being updated might help. Find it at it's new home below:
http://www.sfe.captainkwok.net/home.html
Keep in mind, the space yards and technology section are currently being updated and have mostly placeholder pages in place. However, the features, empires, and a few other pages are up to date. I should have the remainder of the more interesting technology pages up by the end of the night.

Depends on what kind of Java you're talking about here...
Java can be both client side and server side.
Right now, I'm doing the unholy task of optimizing Java code... as big of an oxymoron that is.

Yeah, so you might as well visit my site even though it's so boring that 34% of you leave in 30sec or less. Yep, it's sad and true what stats can tell you.

Good. Will there be any content loss?
