I know this has probably been answered before, but if a plague event happens on a colony, and everyone dies from it, does the plague go away? ie: does it die out and thus allow me to resettle the colony?

thanks,

Alarik

If memory serves, your planet will get wiped out once it reaches 0 inhabitant, and you will be able to resettle the colony without any problem.

I think so too.

I can tell from experience, it works like that, the plague dies with the population.

Excellent. I have a tiny little colony of 3 million brigands and pirates that is now going to vanish under in one turn a level 3 plague....from here on out, it will be renamed something like "deathworld" once my brave little anarchists resettle it...

Thanks all!

Population can also be wiped out completely using the intel food comtamination project. However, unlike a plagued planet, a colony wiped out in this manner doesn't revert to an uncolonized state. It remains as a colony with zero population. All the facilities remain, but no construction will occur and no resources will be produced. The empire owning the colony can repopulate the planet with a simple transer of population instead of needing a colony ship.
