View Full Version : Favourite quotes/episodes from Stargate SG-1

I was just watching another episode (Zero Hour) of Stargate SG-1, which is one of my favourite sci-fi shows and I started to wonder that with 8 seasons worth of episodes there must be alot of witty Jack O'Neill lines as well as funny character conversations. And I was wondering what other fans of the show thought is/are their favourite quote/conversation.
Here's one of mine (it's from the first season, I believe):
Sam Carter: Daniel, when you were in this alternate reality, were there differences?
Daniel Jackson: Yes. Er, Teal'c was leading the attack on Earth, I wasn't even part of the program, you and Jack were engaged to get married...
Jack O'Neill: Excuse me?
Sam: What... ok, er, even if you did experience this alternate reality, doesn't the very fact there were differences mean that we won't face the same fate?
Daniel: Yes. But the defining event, the death of Ra, took place in both worlds.
Teal'c: An attack of retribution.
Daniel: Yes. And the same thing is going to happen here unless we stop it.
Jack: All right. Wait a minute. Let me get something straight here. Engaged?
Sam: It's theoretically possible.
Jack: It's against regulations.
Sam: I'm talking physics, sir

I watched the 20th episode of the 8th season last week, which I think is the last of the series and having seen every episode before that I believe that SG-1 is easly #2 on my list of favorite sci-fi shows right under ST:TNG.
Not really a line but one of my favorite episodes is the one where Jack and Teal'c are trapped in a Ground Hog Day type time loop because of some ancient tech if I remeber correctly.

That one is funny, especially when they get bored and start doing crazy things. 'Fore!' That's a new golf driving record http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

O'Neal: So, What now?
Teal'c: I heard of this event where women do combat in a pool of jello..
O'Neal: Call Daniel.
And I agree, the groundhog day thing is a really good episode.
Cheers! http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif

I never saw the beginning just the end. That was the first episode I cracked up laughing watching it. Teal'c is funny, because whenever the day 'resets', a guy opens a door, and hits him in the face. One of those times, he shoves the door back on that persons face http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Yes, when O'Neill and Tealc are hitting golf balls into the stargate and General Hammond yells at him. O'Neill turns around and growls back, "In the middle of my backswing?" http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif That episode was one great quote after another.

And when they made smiley faces in their food out of ketchup http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif They just got one look after another from other people. The golf balls into the stargate was one of the funnier things of that episode. Not many people have a 200 lightyear drive in golf.

O'Neill: We've been in worse situations than this.
Teal'c: Not to my knowledge.

(When referring to alternative realities)
Teal'c: As you have said O'Neill, our reality is the one one that matters.

I like them all. To many to choose from. They are all good episodes. Well except for the nerd who thinks he is from outer space and turns out he is, and its sequal with the Worm Hole Extreme. Oh the one with nerd Doctor. Two episodes with him were unbareable to watch. The first had the Flox dude from Enterprise in it and the later sequal to that episode with the Stargate virus. Those were my least favorate.
Then the one where the barber shares O'Neils adventures and rights about them. Really not a good episode, but an ok ending.

It's funny when O'neil is interfaced with the computer systems. He gets a little carried away, and starts turning the lights on and off http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

(O'Neal) "It's what I do."
I like to use that one as my sig when I'm in a flametastic mood.

This is why Firefox's Adblock extension is so useful. Block crap like that with ease!

Only one i can remember off hand
O'Neil: We brought some videos. Like Star Wars. Haven't seen it yet
Carter: You've never seen Star Wars?
O'Neil: well, Teal'C likes it, so it must be good.
Teal'C: Indeed.

Being a science nerd myself, I found the recent quote below very funny. Don't remember the exact words, but it was something like ...
O'Neill (looking at a tech manual): This is just a bunch of alien gobbledygook. I thought you said they translated this into our language?
Carter: It's equations, sir. That's my language.

O'Neill: I'm making my world-famous omellette.
Carter: World-famous huh? What's in it?
O'Neill: Eggs,...
Carter: Sir, I don't think that counts as a recipe.
O'Neill: Well, there's a secret ingredient that I add, but if I told you, I'd have to shoot you.
Carter: It's beer isn't it, sir?
O'Neill: Let me get back to you on that.
O'Neill: If you're gonna go out with this story make sure you spell my name right. It's O'Neill, with two L's. There's another O'Neill, he just doesn't have my sense of humour.

Carter: "Are you okay, sir?!"
O'Neill: "Yeah, I'm okay... ish..."
Season 8, Zero Hour.
A nice quote, I haven't seen all episodes, so I don't know many good quotes. This was the last episode I've seen. Season 8 is not available yet here in Holland. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
