Fyron have you heard anything from your hosting service as to when SE.net will be back up and running?

Lol, its not quite that grim spaceempires.net will be coming back its just hard wading through the crap that is most web hosts to find that perfect one.

Fyron hasn't heard from the host yet what the problem is - almost two days later - hence the pending move. However, feel free to visit my websites in lieu of SE.net!

I bet Kwok destroyed Fyrons webhost to boost traffic to his site http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif

It was a precision strike with some High-Energy Magnfier III's (+30 to hit) to take out the server. Overall, the plan is starting to work as yesterday ended the current downhill slide for visits. Mo ha ha ha!

Nah, not really. Although starting to miss the forums at SE.net - have lots of interesting stuff to post in the forums!

Content loss is going to hurt us again though. Last time we have a major melt down of Fyrons Host, he lost a years worth of info. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Must be backed up on 12 servers all around the world (including secret orbital data havens) every hour, encrypted and immediately burned to DVDs. That's what I call "fault-tolerant system".

I have found evidence Kwok is indeed behind the destruction of SpaceEmpires.net. I have found the motive!

From his website:

28 February 2005:
Captain Kwok's Space Empires Depot has been the first site uploaded to my new domain here at www.captainkwok.net. (http://www.captainkwok.net.) Make sure you update your bookmarks and links! Look for the Space Food Empires website to make the hop over shortly. It's exciting because I now have more space and bandwidth so I can add some downloads and more content. Look out Spaceempires.net because your title as #1 in all of space empires is nearing the end!

Then 5 days later, SE.net goes offline! I'm on to you Kwok!

Encryption means you not only need the data, you also need the key.

Burning it plaintext onto the lunar regolith with a Giant DVD laser, on the other hand...

Ahh But Kwok has openly denied this attack http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

News Report on Captainkwok.net:
In an unrelated story, Imperator Fyron's Spaceempires.net website remains down. The reason is unknown, although some might think that Captain Kwok of the Space Empires Depot has sabotaged the site in a long running one-sided imagined rivalry. This is false.

http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Maybe Kwok got a secret third party involved. He seems to smart and devious to go for a direct strike http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Word around the Spaceport is that Fyron is using his Resource Reclamation Plant to recover his site - perhaps it might return shortly?

The first parts of a fixed SpaceEmpires.net are peeking through www.spaceempires.net (http://www.spaceempires.net)

A third party involved in the attack against SE.net? There was no French connection here, really! That Fyron uses phrases like "Vive la balle!" should be dismissed as being inconsequential too. My leave in the past few days also bears no link with the attacks against SE.net.

So I really did nothing to bring down SE.net, and Fyron along with it (not even in memory of that cursed-by-the-Balance contract he made me sign). Honest here! Who said I was too eager to defend myself? I am just saving time for the people who will handle the case, by pointing out I am *not* involved in any way whatsoever.

Now Kwok, if you will please send that check? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
