I was just thinking..... what kind of ship images do you like best?
You may choose two (in case you might like Neostandard but wished there were some more ship types). If you select the last choice, please specify what sort of ship imgs you would like to be used by the general public.

The rule of the One shipset: a single shipset per mod, and one I can see without trouble (so no Praetor shipset allowed on my computer). Those shipsets are Regency, Cryslonite, EEE and KanasS (though Cryslonite will likely be killed soon).

I would personally like to see more "secondary" warships..... now, the generic hulls are single-line ascending ships. I would like to see "specialized" secondary hulls like in Capship, say special Destroyers with visible scanning devices and tracking sensors, or Frigates that look like strong yet compact warships designed for sheer combat effectiveness.

OK, but it would be nice if people made extra ships more often..... even if they're not names used in any mod, just "[%RaceName]_Portrait_ExtraShip1.bmp" would do.
Like in TerranC's Sev shipset..... I mean, FighterOrbital, SatelliteMedium/Large, Researchoutpost..... man that's what I need!

I made those pics because the Adamant mod called for their existance; if someone made a mod that called for an AWACS Destroyer or a Heavy Gunship, it is most likely that I would have accomodated them also.

The problem with using the "extra_ship" name is that the modders and shipset builders need to be on the same page. What I mean is that you don't want the player to have to rename the ships to work in a mod. Also, what stops a shipset builder from adding what he considers a supermassiveheavyorbitalassault carrier as extra_pic1 and the next builder making micromines as extra_pic1? http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/laugh.gif That's why the standards are there.

Also, there is no Neostandard+. ++ is a reference to the ubiqitous C++ language.

Thought Neo+ didn't exist, just thought that because of Neo++ there'd be an earlier version I knew nothing about.....
.....and to speak for myself I wouldn't mind renaming ships.

What is full Adamant support? Is it the same as Neo++?
What shipsets are fully supported?

Seriously, as long as they look good and as long as there's shipsets to support specialized mods, I'm happy.

Adamant uses most of the Neostandard and the Neostandard++, but also a whole lot more. I don't have the list anymore. Check out the Sev shipset to get an idea:

I don't make preferences with shipsets, honestly. I'm shallow when it comes to appearances, so as long as they look good, I'll play them. I'm with Narf. Support for other mods is important, too.
