This is a sad day for the SEIV forums indeed. I think the steam has been vented off and the engine is just running down.

We are a sorry bunch are we not Narf? Here it is 12:30 am on a Saturday morning and you and I are sitting here, looking at our computer monitors instead of out having fun. I have an excuse, I am poor and really sick at the moment, what be your fine excuse my white furred friend?

It occured to me tonight that I have made over FIFTY, count-em, 50, ship sets for SE IV. If I factor in the time I have spent on this game, not playing it, I will bet that it would rival the time I could have spent working a full time job. My God, over 50 sets, not counting all of the remakes as those would put it over 80 sets.

You guys can always come over to the happenin' Dominions II forum http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif Of course, it might make more sense if you buy the game or play the demo, but if you don't want to do that, you can always download my combat sim and pretend you're playing Dominions II =)

I think we're all just a bit burnt out. I just went on a mad SE5 art spree and don't have much creativity left. Just noticed something kinda cool. The SE4 board is the largest on the Shrapnel forums at a current thread count of 12,844 with 221,667 posts in total. Next closest is Dominions II with 4427 threads and 64,009 posts. How much more do we really have to talk about?

My opinion exactly. Why waste 1/3 of your life in unconsciousness? Seems a shame to spend that much time lying down not aware of anything except the occaisional odd trip your subconscious mind takes you on.

Sleep is actually something I could do with more of right now. Working 9-10 hour days at a Chick-fil-A is quite tiring, not o mention teh fact that I usually have to get up at about four in the morning to get to work on time. Other than that, I too believe that sleep takes up too much time in ones day.

No wonder your sleep cycle is out of synch.

Or take the square root, if you prefer.

Thanks, Came to me one day when I was stumped on picking a Racial Trait. StrategiaInUltima sent some extra ones to me via PM as well. So credit to him for the following additions. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Lucky - for people who come from a planet called Vegas.
Emotionless - for those who have read either 1984, Brave New World or both.
Propulsion Experts - for those who come from a planet that looks like their mother-in-law.
Ancient Race - for a race which knows EVERYTHING in the galaxy yet is too stupid to conquer the bloody thing before the game even starts.
Advanced Power Conservation - for those who rely on steam-powered spaceships.
Advanced Storage Techniques - for those who want their wine cellar to be bigger than anyone's.
Mechanoids - for those who've watched Robots and liked it just a little too much.
Natural Merchants - for those who have the technology to teleport goods between systems, yet are too stupid to travel that way.
Hardy Industrialists - for those smart enough to use slaves because they work harder.

Of course I can't find the link now but I saw a very clever reply to some poor schleps plea for help with one of many problems with MOO3.

By saying "school" you pretty much just answered your own question:
Q: Why?
A: School and/or work

I for one have an alarm company to run during the day. And I know someone in a corporate IT job who got fired for playing SEIV too often. Priorities, young man. Priorities.

I know priorities, but I also know there are time zones which have free time when I'm at school, but it seems like nobody lives in those timezones or something.....

and the bitmap is simply because I don't know if I can save pngs or jpegs at school.

Renegade 13

Well daylight hours for you are likely not daylight hours for the rest of us http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif Let me guess, you live in Europe somewhere? In that case, since a lot of the people here live in North America (I'm on the west coast of North America), very little of our daylight hours overlap with yours.

If it has IE, it has MS Paint. JPEGs are an option since win98, PNGs are an option in XP.
