Well, apparently the Huygens probe that landed on Titan a few months ago is still active. Scientists are going to try to receive it's (possibly last) faint signals by calling in the general audience.
This friday, everybody is requested to go outside between 12:30 and 13:00 and aim their cellphones east to catch the signals. Cellphones are sensitive to the radio signals emitted by the probe.
It fooled me for a second, then I realised friday is April 1st... http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

LOL - Is that like when the call went out for everyone to leave their phones off the hook so they could blow out the phone lines?
I cannot believe how many people fell for that one. No wonder the fleasing *******s make so much money off of people.. Oh by the way, on Friday be sure to take your phone off the hook between 10:00 am and 11:00am because they are going to be blowing out the phone lines.

It was announced on a national news-site and the first half of the article was all science stuff that sounded legit. Then came the part on going outside with your cellphone...
The biggest (i.e. most succesful) April Fool's Joke here in Holland was from before I was even born. On the news it was announced that postal workers would be equipped with devices to check, remotely, whether you had paid your tv subscription or whether you were illegally receiving the signals (this was from before cable). The only remedy was wrapping your tv in tin foil... That sold out at lightning speed http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

Oh and people don't forget to visit www.shrapnelgames.com (http://www.shrapnelgames.com) friday, people all over the world will be doing that to break a record of largest amount of views on a webpage at a single moment. Last record seemingly stood at 7.6 billion.
And don't forget to make a post friday in the forums with every single word you know (or can remember) to make this forum show up as the highest ranking result on any internet search by Google. Already, millions are registering just for that.
And watch out for the meteor storm that will come friday and wipe across the US!
