Hi!
Is there any way around the annoying fact that I can only mothball, retrofit etc one ship a time at a given location?(in a PBEM simul game)
Is it a bug or planned?

You can retrofit multiple ships of the same class at once, but you still have to click "OK" on the message that pops up for each ship.
Mothballing should be able to be done similarily even if not on random Groups of ships.

no way, not in simultanous games.....hell, it sucks, i need 20 turns to refit my fleet at one planet.....sure i could spread my fleet to other palnets with shipyards, but taht's a hell lot of work and, well...i'm quite lazy :-)

Is this still a problem with mothballing in SE 1.84 simulataneous games? If so is it in the Newbie FAQ? I could not find anything there.
I am having a hell of a time getting my ships to unmothball -- either the unmothball action is ignored or only 1 ship gets unmothballed.
Also, is it 1 ship class to be retrofitted OR unmothballed per sector per turn, or can both actions be performed?

I use to retrofit several ships of the same class at once at the same shipyard.
As to unmothball I can do as many as I can afford.
you're not running out of resources?
What message regarding the unmothball do you get?
1 ship class to retrofit, unmothball I do different classes multiple ships at the same time.
I once unmothballed 55 ships ranging from frigates to battleships and carriers(empty) at the same turn at one planet with one spaceyard in simultaneous.
I only play simultaneous MP games.

You do have to have the resources in storage at the time, too... The retrofitting and unmothballing happens before your resource income from the next turn.

Only my treasury total, is the deciding factor in un-mothballing. But I usually Mothball judiciously anyway.
By the time I have numerous Ships to retrofit I usually have a good repair tech, with 5 or more BSY’s and a RBS (Repair Base Station) orbiting my Home World or forward military base. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/icons/icon12.gif

Is it best to retrofit often, or don’t until one has numerous tech upgrades and then do it less frequent?

I too play only simultaneous and have never had a problem mothballing, unmothballing and retrofitting as many ships as I can afford... and of any and all designs. But now you have me worried. I'll be watching closely in future.

Ah, Its probably that my rad storage is real low right now if mothballing happens before the turns resources are harvested. I am getting no Messages in the log as to why the unmothballing is not happening.
Thanks
