As the title sugjests I want people to list the "UBER EMPIRES" of their gaming days this is just for kicks so don't worry if you don't "measure up" to the others.
Okay here's my "Uber Empire" of history:
Empire Name: Empire of Man
Planets Occupied: 854
Sphereworlds: 27 (3 more under construction when game crashed)
Population: 3.5 Trillion
Ships: 1,300
Troops: 4,000
Bases: 24
Mod: Devnull
Biggest battles:
500 ships vs 300 ships
150 ships vs 1 Fortress sphereworld (I won easily muahahha)
Shipset Used: House of Aleskander
Okay your turn!

Holy !! Now that's one mean empire.
27 Sphereworlds, the best I managed in one game was 5.
But most games I play are very short and intense games. I really don't like those long games, they tend to bore me.
Edit:
It's House of Ale[b]skander. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Ah edited thanks....well I had 3 constructor fleets going around buildin them all at the same time and a transport fleet of about 8 billion people following each constructor fleet so when the Sphereworld was built I just colonized dropped the pop and waited for them to grow like mad and by time the next sphereworld was done I usually had seen that 8 billion become 20 billion so I grabbed a few billion off of that sphereworld and then a few from the local planets and WHAM big time population boom!

Man, that battle must have lasted long. Battles with 100 ships usually take about 2 minutes, with 1,300 ships...

Probably get it going the amble off to the pub. That's what I'd do anyway. Mind you I'd never end up with a game that big, I just don't like fleets of hundreds of ships flying around. You lose all touch with whats going on and nothing really means anything. Or maybe that's just me. *shrug*

Atrocities

Okay here's my "Uber Empire" of history:
Empire Name: Freespace Alliance
Planets Occupied: 2903
Sphereworlds: 21 (16 more under construction when PC Died)
Population: In the Trillons
Ships: 5k + (Mostly mothballed by this time)
Troops: At least 10 on each planet x 2903 planets
Bases: DNR
Mod: Stock
Biggest battles: Defeated the Federation -
100 ships vs 100 + ships
Shipset Used: Starwolf 1.0
Stardate 2469.5
Personal Mod (Proportion like)
My empire:
1095 colonies in 57 systems including about 60 sphereworlds and 30 ringworlds.
Score of 217.7M
181.5B population
147250 units
2962 bases
377 ships
(I stopped expansion some time ago and built heavy defenses on warp points to allow counter attacks of the AI. Therefore the low number of ships and the huge number of bases).
Largest AI empie:
701 colonoes in 44 systems.
Score of 227M
157.1B population
112413 units
2107 ships
117 bases
Largest battles (several):
About 150 defense moons (6000kT bases) and 250 ultralarge sats (240kT each) against 1200 attacking ships (dreadnaughts, baseships, heavy carriers).
I continued the game to this point to see how SE IV manages these huge battles: as long as not too many fighters are involved everything worked fine. Large remaining fighter numbers at the end of the combat however causes frequently a game crash.

I agree Narf. I wish I had the time to do such an elaborate game.

Well narf it's just that we tend to be more patient for example my ONE game has taken well over a year just to play especailly since I've been writing a story along the way.
20 sphereworlds is actually not that hard to get nor is 60 if you have the Cashflow to devote to the ships that are required to build them, population is not even all that important a few million folks will do but spherworlds tend to increase population at insane rates so I honestly don't get how some of these folks only have 800 billion! with 10 sphere worlds and a few hundred planets LOL.

Nah so far they're too young and new they don't have that large of an empire yet just 2 functioning sphereworlds and another that just got completed.
The EOM game had been going on for about 150 years by that point and the galaxy was divided up between 3 powers, Me, the Goa'Ould, and these bug guys who's names I forget.

OK so not really an "uber" empire when compared to the rest, but still 'tis one of my biggest ever:
Empire Name: Ktarian States
Planets Occupied: 19
Systems Occupied: 5
Sphereworlds: Nil
Population: 11.6 Billion
Ships: 2 (One explorer and one transport ship. I never build much ships unless I have a use for them.)
Troops: Nil (not counting the 25 weapon platforms on my homeworld)
Bases: Nil
Production:
Minerals: 34402 gross 14859 net
Organics: 47536 gross 16675 net
Radioactives: 40376 gross 39200 net
Research: 763326 (Last turn, I had a full research queue, including at least three theoretical techs, and everything got researched in one turn.)
Intel: Nil
Mod: Star Trek version 1.9.1.2(?)
Biggest battles:
None (Only recently encountered the Vulcans, I'm living in a linear string of systems and have only recently begun exploring beyond a spatial anomaly next to one side of my home system.)
Shipset Used: Ktarians (by AT)
I had an even larger empire (using the Pexlerr shipset, stock game) but I've got the savegame on another computer. Due to my resource extraction facility construction habit (whenever it's 100% or more I build extractors, whenever it's below I don't build them, not even when it's 99% or during a crisis) I filled up over half of my planets with Research Centers. Within several years, I had built Atmosphere Converters on all non-breathable planets and expanded my Research capacity even more. Eventually, I believe my research point output lay at over a million(!!!). When I researched all techs (somewhere around 20 years into the game IIRC) I converted them all into Intel centers. I stopped at that point, but had I continued, all the other empires would've been completely powerless against me and my hordes of CIA/KGB operatives.....

Thus the reason I don't play to those levels. 3 hrs for a big fleet fight is silly. Plus I'd get bored and start doing something else. http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

these are all pbw games http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/images/smilies/happy.gif except for the 3 hour combat turn which was run offline at work
At one point there were 6 people in my office who played seiv... So we used to have some epic games....

pop of 885 billion isn't out of line with 5 ring worlds and 883 planets game ran nearly 2 years, i probably lost over 100 planets to enemy attacks. that said i could build colony ships in 1 turn, 10 planets 10 turns 100 ships. Oh only 3 of the 5 ringworlds were intact.
i don't think 10 sphereworlds with 202 pplanets having only 85billion after 111 turns is really off the mark.

the game i mentioned higher up is a sweet game, the one i won in.
there where 2 others, one with over 233+ planets (i consumed another empire some time after that) but i was only second, my alliance partner was 1st.
A third one 297 planets (all but about a dozen+, mostly irradiated, terraformed)
65. mil in resources
176bil. pop
11688 units
1063 ships (my dns could take out Nostropolitan baseships more than 50% of time)
1115 bases (mostly construction)
third place, first place empire was huge after surrender in involving 2 of the top 4 empires which resulted in the game ending early.
game ran 122 turns.
i do not have ant offline games of that scale larger due to the fact i do not play offline.
so all games mentetioned are on PBW.
all 3 game listed are sweet games.
